LADY EAGLES Defense secures win on Senior Night
Here at Senior Day for the Lady Eagles of Morehead State as they take on the Murray State Lady Racers. It was an up and down start to the game with both teams trading blows through out the beginning but Murray’s Presence inside took control late into the first quarter. The 2nd Quarter Morehead stepped up the defensive intensity and cause a few turnovers and shot clock violation and Morehead’s leading scorer, Miranda Crockett went on a personal run for the Lady Eagles scoring their last 6 baskets of the quarter as the Lady Racers lead 37-34 going into the half. The Lady Eagles clawed their way back into with great defensive pressure causing Murray State to turn the ball over numerous times which Morehead capitalized on and took a 53-49 lead at the end of the 3rd. The story of the 4th quarter was the same as the 3rd, the Lady Eagle’s defense caused problems and disrupted the Lady Racer’s offensive rhythm. That didn’t stop Murray St. from making a run of their own but Morehead was too much as they pulled out the victory 80-71 on Senior Night.
