Kentucky blows by UT Martin 50-7

On a dreary Saturday evening with rain falling over Lexington the University of Kentucky Wildcats will be taking on University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM).  UK wins the toss and defers so UTM will have the very first possession of the game. Early score for UK on a forced safety on the very first snap for UTM. UK scores again on its second defensive stand on another bad snap by UTM leading to a fumble recovery by Yusuf Corker. On Kentucky’s second offense possession they hand it off to AJ Rose and he takes it 63 yards for a TD UK leads UTM 16 – 0. Possession went back and forth only thing that happened that way exiting at the end of the first Max Duffey had a 66 yard pump. Spoke to early because UK miss handled a punt and turned it over with 20 seconds left in the first quarter.

Nothing interesting happening in the beginning of the second quarter until Lynn Bowden tries to throw deep ball on third down to only throws an interception. UKs defense needs to make another stand already as a team has a year high of 5 sacks with hopefully many more to come. On the very next possession after throwing an interception, Bowden rushes for a 58 yard gain to put the Wildcats in the red zone.; Bowden walks it in from two yards away to stretch the lead 22-0 over UTM.

After an onside kick recovery by UTM to start the third quarter and match down the field to UK end zone to come away with an interception thrown by John Bachus. After the early push in the third, I believe that the UK defense is too much for UTM. Kentucky would go on to win pretty easily. Kentucky becomes bowl eligible with the win and look to put the icing on the cake next week when they take on in state rivals University of Louisville.
