The Kentucky Wildcats scored their 1000th SEC win Saturday in Rupp Arena by defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide 76-67. The win never seemed to be in doubt today as Immanuel Quickley continued his hot three point shooting hitting five today and is 12 of 17 in his last three games. Nick Richards added another double-double to make that seven so far this season.

The Wildcats went to the locker room at half time with a 45-35. Shooting 56% from the field and 71% from the three point line and 66% from the free throw line. The Cats did a great job of stopping Alabama’s league leading three point shooting limiting them to 23% on 3-13 shots today.

Nick Richards had a great game today scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Quickley was again the Cats leading scorer with 19 points. Ashton Hagans just missed a triple double with 15 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists today.

Game totals for Kentucky today were 56% from the field, 71% from the three point line and lower than usual 67% from the free throw line. The Cats had 44 rebounds today with eight blocked shots, 15 assists and 14 turnovers.

In Coach Calipari’s post game comments he praised Whitney, Brooks, and Montgomery on their improved play in helping the team win today. He stated that the team would improve as each individual player gets better.

Next up for the Wildcats is a road trip to South Carolina on Wednesday, January 15th at 6:30. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network
