The UK wildcats did not hold anything back last night as they sweep the Georgia Bulldogs in SEC play at Rupp by a score of 89 to 79, before a crowd of 20,135.
UK went 31-59 from the field shooting 52.5%, 26-33 from the free throw line for 78.8% and 1 for 9 from the 3 point line for a whoopin 11.1 %.
My good friend and sports authority Brock Gilligan said that proves that KY does not have to shoot 25 to 30 from the 3 point line to win a basketball game. Throw it inside to that Big Monster Nick Richards and tell the others to charge the boards for second chance points. He has a good point and I told him I would share that with Coach Cal.
Nick Richards did have a good night playing 36:10 minutes in the game shooting 7-12 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line totaling 20 points. Nick also grabbed 8 rebounds on the night.
My biggest concern for this game was how would UK control, maintain and stop Georgia’s #5 Anthony Edwards. That was put to rest last night by UK’s #5 Immanuel Quickley who along with his team mates held him to ZERO, NO Points in the First Half and held him to 16 points for the game.
Nine UK players took the floor last night some playing 36:10 minutes and some 2:32. UK’s Coach Cal said if they want more playing time, get in shape, play good defense and hit the boards, the rest will come. If you are grabbing offensive rebounds you are going to play.

Final Score: No. 15/14 Kentucky 89, Georgia 79
