WOMEN’S HOOPS HOSTS OVC FOE SIUE ON COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY THURSDAY

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State Women’s Basketball team is set to host SIUE in Ohio Valley Conference play on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. ET at Johnson Arena.

The Eagles enter the game with a 5-9 overall record in 2019-20 and a 1-1 tally in the OVC after opening league play with a split at home, earning a double-digit win against Jacksonville State on Jan. 2, before being setback by a hot-shooting Tennessee Tech squad on Saturday.

The Cougars, who will be playing in their seventh consecutive road game, visit Morehead with a 3-10 mark for the season. In conference play, SIUE holds an even 1-1 mark after its “opening act” to OVC play in the Music City resulted in a loss at Belmont on Jan. 2, and a win at Tennessee State on Saturday.

“SIUE is a team that’s better than the record shows,” said MSU head coach Greg Todd. “They’ve played some tough non-conference opponents and are coming off a good win at Tennessee State. We’ve had some good practices this week to get ready and are happy to be back competing on our home floor.”

As a part of Thursday’s game, Morehead State will be hosting a “Community Appreciation Day” which will feature discounted bleacher tickets for fans who are residents of Morehead.

Fans can stream Thursday’s game on ESPN+. Emma Tiedemann will call the action from courtside on the Eagle Sports Network, 96.3-FM WIVY. Live statistics can be accessed on MSUEagles.com.
