Maysville, KY – The last time Mason County lost to Fleming County, Bill Clinton was president and the country was preparing for Dooms Day as 2000 was quickly approaching. The Panthers went into the Mason County Fieldhouse a huge underdog and stole a 73-70 win over the Royals.

Fleming was playing without two of their starters and came out on fire hitting nine of thirteen threes in the first half to take a 43-32 lead into the locker room.

Mason County battled back in the fourth quarter and took their first lead of the game 53-52 with 6:32 left to play but was unable to hold on as the Panthers hit clutch free throws down the stretch to defeat the Royals for the first time in 21 years.
