Lady Royals Route Bracken, Advances to 39th District Finals

Brooksville, KY – The Mason County Lady Royals showed why they’re the team to beat in the 39th District tournament with an impressive 69-25 win over Bracken County Tuesday night. Mason County pressured the Lady Polar Bears throughout the contest and held them to just 11 first half points. 

Things didn’t get much better the second half as the Lady Royals outscored Bracken Count 30-14, using their entire squad in their 44-point victory.

Mason County was led in scoring by Haley White who poured in 25 points, including six-three pointers. Twenty-two of White’s points came in the in the half of play. Rachael Payne and Milyn Henry each scored in double figures with 20 and 11 respectively.

Bracken County’s leading scorer Jaya Dawson was held to just 10 points and played in her last game as a Lady Polar Bear. They finished the season 3-28 and will look to rebuild during the off season.

The Lady Royals advanced to Thursday’s final against cross town rival St. Patrick Lady Saints. St. Patrick punched their ticket to the championship game on Monday when they defeated the Augusta Lady Panthers 55-34.
