Brooksville, KY – It’s been said the third time is a charm. That wasn’t the case for the St. Patrick Saints as they fell to rival Augusta 80-57 in the opening round of the 39th district tournament Monday night at Bracken County High School.

The younger Saints came out hot in the first quarter, but Augusta used their size to their advantage on the inside and led after one 23-15. The Panthers extended their lead 38-24 at the half and cruised to a 23-point victory and their third consecutive win this season.

The young Saints squad ended the season with a record of 5-26 and are expected to return all their players next year. Jaylen Rigdon led St. Patrick in scoring with 17 while Chase Walton added 15. Freshman L.J. Conner contributed 12 points in the losing effort.
