WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SET FOR CRITICAL ROAD MATCHUP VS. GOVS

By Ted McCoart, Morehead State Athletic Media RelationsCLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – With just two games remaining in its 2019-20 season, the Morehead State Women’s Basketball team finds itself playing in a high-stakes Ohio Valley Conference matchup vs. Austin Peay at the Dunn Center on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Eagles enter Thursday’s game with an overall mark of 10-18 and an OVC record off 6-10 which is tied for eighth in the league with Murray State. The Racers, set to host Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, hold rights to any tie-breaking scenario with Morehead State.

The host Governors find themselves one spot above the Eagles in the OVC standings as they’re 7-9 league mark is just one-game better.

“Our team has had a good week of preparation,” said MSU head coach Greg Todd. “We have two league games that could either put us in or eliminate us from the OVC Tournament. The ultimate goal for our team is to finish the week 2-0.”
