Mason Comes up Short Against Montgomery in the 10th Region Tournament

Mason loses heartbreak to Mongomery County in the first round of the 10th Region Tourney. Mason County was able to start the game firing on all cylinders opening up to a quick lead that they held for most of the game. Mason was very possed on both sides of the court, while Mongomery found some key players in foul trouble early on in the first half. Mason would go in at half time up to six points on Mongomery. Things would change direction after half time though. Montgomery County was able to get a few key players of Mason in foul trouble pulling within two of Mason going into the fourth quarter. The up-tempo proved to play in Mason’s favor but to many outside shots that didn’t fall proved to be the difference. Montogomery was able to hold up the storming Royals. With thirteen seconds left mason had one more opportunity to try and win the game and missed on a last-second three. Mason County’s player of the game was Alex Shalch who had 12 points 10 boards 2 assists and 1 block. Montgomery County’s player of the game was Harrison Haggins who had 15 points 3 boards and 2 steals. Montgomery moves on to play against the winner of Pendelton County vs Campbell County on Monday night.
