GRC holds off the Royals

The first half of the game has not disappointed. The game is high pace up and down the court with good shot selection from both teams. George Rodger Clark, or known as GRC, jumped out to a quick lead but once Evan Schumaker entered the game Mason County went on a run of their own to take the lead and hold it going into half time. Mason County has shot 60% from the field and if they can maintain that shooting percentage they’ll stay in the ball game. GRC has out-rebounded Mason 19-9 but has shot 42% from the field. I know the second half won’t disappoint.
GRC came out to start the second half with a defensive presence that was not there in the first half. They were able to hold Mason County to only 4 points in the 3rd quarter while scoring 18 themselves and not look back after that. Mason shot 34% from the field in the second half which hurt them while GRC stepped up hitting 70% of their shots. GRC moves on to face Campbell County in the District Championship tomorrow at 7 at the Field House.
