MOREHEAD, Ky. – Reis Jones, a 6-foot-10 forward from the Washington D.C. metro area and Flint Hill High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Morehead State men’s basketball program.

Jones, a member of an elite athletic family, transferred to Flint Hill in 2020-21 after previously playing at Oxon Hill (Md.) High School.

“We are excited to have Reis join the program and continue our tradition of talented forwards who have impacted our league over the years,” said Head Coach Preston Spradlin. “Reis comes from an outstanding family of accomplished athletes and brings in an impressive academic portfolio that will allow his transition to college to be seamless both on and off the court. With his size, athleticism, skill and basketball IQ, we believe Reis will become an outstanding player for our program.”

Jones played at Oxon Hill in 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 before reclassifying and transferring to Flint Hill (located in Oakton, Va.) for his final two seasons in 2020-21 and 2021-22 for head coach Rico Reed.

As a senior, he averaged 13.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game. He was heavily honored, including being on the DMV Elite 80 three times and being named First-Team All-Star. He was also on the Stephen Curry Underrated Team.

Jones has been a standout on the AAU circuit as well for DC Premier, Prospect U, Team Takeover and New World.

He is the son of Michelle and Thomas Jones and has five siblings. His sister Rainelle is a graduate student volleyball athlete at Maryland and led all of Division I in blocks in 2021. His father played basketball at Maryland from 1984-86 and had a lengthy pro career, while his mother was a basketball athlete in Canada at University of Winnipeg as well as a pro career.
