EAGLE QB ALUM PAPPAS NAMED MVP AND LEADS SWEDISH PRO TEAM TO TITLE 


By Matt Schabert, Morehead State Athletic Media RelationsMOREHEAD, Ky. –– Former Morehead State all-star quarterback Mark Pappashad a season to remember in his first year in professional football. Pappas led the Stockholm (Sweden) Mean Machines to the Superserien championship, while being named title game MVP, league MVP and leading the league in passing.

Pappas, who ranks second in MSU program history in passing yards in a season (3,446 in 2021), led the Mean Machines to a resounding 52-8 win in the championship game with five TD passes. He helped Stockholm to a perfect 6-0 regular season record and led the league with more than 1,500 passing yards.

From Avon Lake, Ohio, Pappas helped MSU to its best season in seven years at 7-4 in 2021 and was named First-Team All-PFL. He holds the MSU record for yards in a game (481) and ranks fourth in career passing yards (7,346).
